FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Exceeds Fundraising Goal For '5FDP4VETS No One Gets Left Behind' Campaign
August 14, 2014FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH delivered an important message to the world earlier this week with the band's riveting music video for the new single "Wrong Side Of Heaven". The clip evinces the jaw-dropping and stunning statistics of returning veterans afflicted and living with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
In order to raise awareness, the gold-selling rock juggernaut didn't simply talk about the issue — they also went and did something about it…
In tandem with the video's premiere, the group ignited a special crowd-funding campaign for a jersey entitled 5FDP4VETS "No One Gets Left Behind" on Indiegogo. The campaign's goal of raising $50,000 was bested by double in less than two day's time — exceeding $100,000. The campaign continues to run and the proceeds will benefit organizations that joined forces with the group to raise awareness for veterans suffering from PTSD.
Fans who pledged will receive a limited-edition jersey created and designed by guitarist Zoltan Bathory. The initial run of shirts ran out, and the band expanded it by 1,000 in order to keep up with the overwhelming demand.
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH also hosted a special screening of their new video "Wrong Side Of Heaven" this past Monday at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada, showing their appreciation for the military up close and personal. Watch the local news coverage of the event below. The video has amassed over 500,000 views in less than 48 hours since its premiere on VEVO, touching viewers everywhere with its poignant message.
In addition, the band launched the webpage www.5fdp4Vets.com. It sheds light on veterans afflicted with PTSD, their struggles, and offers a video call-to-action to fans asking them to send in their fallen loved ones' dog tags to build a memorial wall commemorating them. This memorial wall will be prominently featured on the band's upcoming fall arena tour as their backdrop. Once the tour concludes, the proper museum will be sought out to showcase this memorial to the fallen heroes who gave their lives serving our country.
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH is scheduled to kick off the biggest rock tour of the fall, co-headlining arenas across North America with VOLBEAT, on September 16 at the Maverik Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Hal Leonard released a brand new FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH guitar tab folio on August 12. The book features a dozen cuts from the band's current hit albums "The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell" Volume 1 and Volume 2.
